Perimenopause is the body’s natural transition toward menopause, but it doesn’t happen overnight — it’s a slow and sometimes bumpy ride. In the video, Dr. Altizer explains that this stage often begins in the mid-to-late 30s or 40s, and it’s marked by shifting hormones — especially a gradual decline in estrogen. These hormonal changes can lead to irregular cycles, heavier or lighter periods, mood changes, brain fog, sleep problems, and the infamous hot flashes. And P.S. -- you are still fertile! |
